Until one day, the triangle carts rolled in too fast, and the round drums bounced sideways with a boom-boom-bomp. Because of that, the square gates jammed. Because of THAT, the tiny runners had no clear path. Tessa skidded, smelled hot dust, and pressed her pebble into the smallest open space. “This way!” she whispered, though nobody saw who made the mark.
