Under a moon as thin as a banana peel, Pip hurried through the mushroom meadow with moonberries bumping in his pocket. Swish went his star wand, tap-tap went his boots on the curvy path, and the flowers smelled like lemon drops after rain.
He sprinkled silver sparks so the picnic trail would glow for late guests. “This way, friends!” he whispered, though nobody was there. Then a tiny door opened in a mushroom stem, and out marched three beetles wearing leaf helmets. They were paving the same path with pebble-sized stones.
Pip grinned and added one last golden twinkle to their lantern. The beetles clicked their thanks, bright as buttons. If you follow the wand’s sparkling trail, you may spot where Pip helped before anyone saw.
