🎨 How to color it

Color the wizard’s hat deep indigo with yellow stars and moon, his robe smoky violet, the potion emerald green, and the shelf bottles amber, teal, and rose. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny bottle corks, brick lines, hat symbols, and swirling steam, then fill the wide robe and cauldron with smoother strokes. Try fading the potion steam from pale green near the cauldron to silver at the top, as if the spell is climbing the room.

Behind the heavy oak door, where the air smelled of cork dust and peppery herbs, Bramble set himself a private test: brew one bubbling laugh-spark potion without peeking at his recipe book. He had the blue salt, the hiccup beans, and the spoon that hummed when it was pleased. But the final pinch of rosemary sat across the room under the tall shelf, past the floorboard that always squeaked like a mouse in boots.

Bramble tiptoed out from his warm cauldron corner. Squeak! A bottle wobbled. To save it, he dropped his last hiccup bean, and it bounced under a cupboard with a tiny plink. “Well,” he whispered, “that’s the price of being mysterious.” He reached the rosemary, snapped one twig, and hurried back through the sharp green smell.

When the twig touched the pot, the steam curled into loops and bubbles popped with little chuckles. Bramble laughed so hard he had to open the door and call the broom, the teacups, and even the sulky recipe book to come hear it. If you spot the rosemary by the bottles, keep the secret: joy that big never stays behind a heavy oak door.
