Until one night, a thrown star rang like a cup and hovered instead of falling. Because of that, he traced the nearest spiral; because of that, five more stars opened their bright metal eyes. At last he stopped counting and listened. The room smelled of pine soot and rain, and curiosity ran ahead, carrying his name through every hidden moon.
