🎨 How to color it

Layer the central cross in burnished gold, the three lilies in creamy white with rose-pink throats, the leaves in deep emerald, and the sky panes in pale sapphire. Use sharp colored pencils for the thin vine curls, petal veins, and narrow lead lines, saving broader marker fills for the sun rays and large arched panes. For a luminous twist, blend the rays from golden yellow near the cross to coral at the outer edges, as if the flowers are lit from within.

The story behind this coloring page

Every evening, Cassian ran the storm canal with a satchel of replacement glass, chasing the bell before floodgates slammed shut. He knew every slick rung, every iron bridge, every window that threw color onto the water—until one day the canal rose black and fast, and the guild’s route mark vanished from the map board with a wet slap of wind.

Because of that, he followed old lead lines instead of streets, boots skidding, lungs full of rain and mineral dust. Because of that, he reached the sealed pump house, where the largest window trembled with thunder and the lilies shone like watch fires. He pressed the wrong panels first: stars, clouds, leaves. Nothing. Then a loose stamen clicked under his thumb.

A compass no bigger than a coin unfolded inside the lily’s heart, its needle spinning toward the hidden dry tunnel below. Cassian laughed into the roar and ran exactly where it pointed, not away from the storm but through its secret ribs, home by the floodgate bell before it closed. Every evening after, the storm canal sounded like a welcome.
