🎨 How to color it

Layer amber gold in the central medallion, deep teal along the long sunburst rays, plum in the chevron bands, and warm ivory on the stepped arch. Use a sharp pencil for the narrow ray dividers and tiny zigzags, coloring from the center outward so your hand does not smudge the tight spokes. For a polished art-deco glow, blend each long ray from darker teal near the medallion to paler aqua at the border.

The story behind this coloring page

Before the lamps warmed, Odette wanted one honest measuring strip, not the nicked guild ruler that made every ray lean a little. She left her bench, followed a brass moth ticking against the corridor glass, and traded her last blue chalk for a key to the shuttered pattern vault. Inside, dust smelled of pennies and rain; behind a cracked sunburst she found no ruler, only blank lead and the note: Make the measure you can answer for. By dawn, her palms were gray, her gauge was uneven, and every new ray held her own hand’s pride.
