🎨 How to color it

Color the sun lemon yellow, its cheeks peachy pink, the clouds soft white with pale blue shadows, and the stained-glass rays in sky blue, mint, and golden orange. Use chunky crayons or markers to fill each long ray panel from the thick black lines inward, so little hands can stop and start easily. Try making the tiny sparkle shapes in the sun’s eyes bright white, then give one cloud a secret silver edge.

The story behind this coloring page

Pip and the Silver Cloud — Behind the warm sky window, Pip the sunbeam tapped the glass with a tiny tink-tink. Read the full story →

Behind the warm sky window, Pip the sunbeam tapped the glass with a tiny tink-tink. He had given himself a challenge: reach the little cloud with the silver edge before the bell in the tower rang twice. The cloud floated past the far ray, where the blue panels looked deep and cool. Pip slid out of his cozy golden circle. His light felt thin. Dust smelled like old rain. “Just one more stripe,” he whispered.

At the last panel, Pip had to squeeze through a narrow crack of shadow, and he left a speck of his shine behind. The silver-edged cloud puffed softly, hiding a tiny note made of mist: BRING MORNING SLOWLY. Pip carried the words back, not faster but braver, warming each ray as he went. When the bell rang, the whole window glowed gentle gold. Next time you see the smiling sun, can you find the cloud that kept the secret?
