🎨 How to color it

Use pine green for the tree, bright yellow for the top star and side stars, red and blue for the round ornaments, and silver for the snowflake. Big spaces like the branches and pot are perfect for chunky crayons, and it is okay if little hands color over the thick black lines. Try making the bead garlands a candy pattern by switching red, white, red, white all the way down the tree.

In the cozy nursery corner, Pip tapped the flowerpot: tap, tap, tap. He had a tiny challenge—count every sparkle before bedtime. “One star, two stars,” he whispered. Shhh, want to know a secret?

A cold little snowflake went tickle-tickle past his nose. Pip wondered, “Where should it sit?” He hung beads low, balls round, and one big star high. The snowflake smiled beside the branches, and ever since, Christmas trees keep a star on top so curious eyes know where to start counting.
