🎨 How to color it

Color the princess’s dress lavender with golden stars, make the crescent moon buttery yellow, and give the castle towers a soft stone gray. The big window, curtain, and skirt panels are perfect for chunky crayons or markers with simple, bold fills. Try a deep blue night sky behind the moon so the little stars on her dress look like they slipped in from outside.

The story behind this coloring page

Celeste’s Moonbeam Swap — Every evening, Celeste counted the stars from her tower window and tapped each one on the stone ledge: tink, tink, tink. Read the full story →

Every evening, Celeste counted the stars from her tower window and tapped each one on the stone ledge: tink, tink, tink. She wanted to invent the funniest bedtime game in the castle, so she whispered, “Moonbeam Swap!” and placed three sugared almonds on the sill for the moon.

Until one night, the almonds vanished with a tiny scritch. Because of that, Celeste left a ribbon loop instead. Because of that, she heard happy squeaks behind the curtain and found three castle mice pulling it like a royal sled.

At last, Celeste hid crumbs in the ribbon and pretended not to notice the mice’s moon parade. If you peek at the open window, can you spot where the game began with tink, tink, tink?
