Every morning, Pip raced the gulls to the shore and packed wet sand with his chipped shell scoop. He wanted to build a crown tall enough for the sea to salute, pat-pat, scoop-scoop, before the tide sloshed in.
Until one morning, a wave boomed higher than his knees and stole the front wall. Because of that, Pip dug a moat with his little scoop. Because of THAT, the water swirled around the towers instead of through them, making the flags flap like tiny cheers. “I made it hold!” Pip shouted, salty wind in his teeth.
