Every morning behind the flower cart, Tavi lined candy dots on a tiny heart cookie: tap, tap, tap. He had set himself a very serious challenge—seventeen dots, no sneaky nibbles—before giving it to the Love Parade drummer.
Until one windy morning, the paper banner flapped WHAP and scattered his dots into the marigolds. Because of that, Tavi crawled under leaves that smelled peppery and sweet. Because of THAT, the parade passed by without him, boom-a-boom, while one last dot stuck to his horn.
“Hold still, dot!” Tavi giggled. At last he pressed it into place: seventeen! The drummer came back for a forgotten drumstick and found Tavi waiting, sticky paws full. Next time you spot that tiny heart in his hands, count slowly—patience tastes like candy dots.
