Under the broad mushroom, Bim polished his tiny moon-seed every evening with one soft leaf. It looked like an ordinary gray dot, but he had found it beside a silver moth, and he wanted to see what it would become. Every night, the grass smelled cool and damp. Every night, nothing happened.
Until one day, the seed gave a faint tick. Because of that, Bim stayed awake while the flower bells nodded. Because of that, he heard a hum under the hill, low and warm as honey. “Wait with me,” he whispered.
