Before the sun popped over Daisy Hill, Dottie rolled to the parade path with a cart full of painted eggs. Her engine went put-put-put, faster than usual. She wanted to lead the first lap all by herself, past the flowers and the two trees with heart-shaped leaves.
The road curved up, down, and around. The eggs clicked softly in their baskets. Then one basket sneezed. Out popped a bunny with whiskers dusted in pollen. “May I ride?” he asked, tapping one egg: tik-tik-tum!
