🎨 How to color it

Give the baby cupid peachy skin, golden wings, rosy heart balloons, and a pale blue cloud with pink heart arrows. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the big cloud and balloons, and do not worry if little hands color past the thick outlines. Try making each balloon a different shade of pink or red, like they are floating through a candy-colored sky.

The story behind this coloring page

Kiran’s Arrow Hears Humming — Every evening, Kiran tapped his heart-arrow on the cloud dock: tap, tap, hum. He wanted to know why it hummed only when the sun turned peach and the air smelled like rain. Read the full story →

Every evening, Kiran tapped his heart-arrow on the cloud dock: tap, tap, hum. He wanted to know why it hummed only when the sun turned peach and the air smelled like rain. The other sky babies tied balloon strings and yawned, but Kiran held the little arrow close. Until one evening, the hum tugged hard enough to pull his bowstring twang!

Because of that, Kiran floated after it, past silver sparkles and sleepy heart balloons. Because of THAT, the balloons began humming too, soft as bees in a flower cup. At the far edge of the dock, the arrow pointed to a tiny crack in the cloud where a shy echo was stuck. “There you are,” Kiran whispered. He plucked the string once, and the echo flew out, round and bright. Next time you see his heart-arrow, can you hear the tap, tap, hum?
