🎨 How to color it

Color the elf’s hat cherry red, the scarf mint green, the giant candy cane red and white, and the hanging stars bright yellow. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big candy-cane stripes and cloud shapes, then try a sharper pencil for the tiny boot cuffs and scarf fringe. Add a pale blue night sky around the crescent moon so the yellow stars look extra glowy.

The story behind this coloring page

Hollis and the Sky Secret — Under the peppermint bell tower, Hollis shook his little lantern. No glow. Read the full story →

Under the peppermint bell tower, Hollis shook his little lantern. No glow. He needed one moonbeam before the night carts rolled by, so he climbed onto the striped candy-cane runner and pushed off into the cold, sweet air. Whoosh! The clouds smelled like snow cream. Stars swung on thin strings, tink-tink, as his boots skimmed past them.

Near the crescent moon, a lumpy cloud sniffled. “My baby star is stuck,” it whispered. Hollis saw a tiny point caught on a dangling thread. He wanted his moonbeam, but he tugged loose three tassels from his warm scarf and tied a soft ladder. The baby star climbed up, blink-blink, and no one cheered because no one saw. The cloud puffed open, spilling secret silver light into his lantern. Hollis flew home warmer than before, with a shorter scarf and a bright little glow; if you spot the hanging stars, can you guess which one climbed the ladder?
