Warm water pattered on the driveway, plip-plip-plop, while Dax rolled his tires in tiny happy wiggles. He wanted to be shiny enough for one proud cruise past the mailbox, so he leaned into the soft sponge as it swished across his doors. Suds smelled like lemons, and bubbles bobbed around his hood scoop like little moons. “More foam, please!” Dax rumbled, and his bumper grin stretched wide.
Then one bubble bumped his windshield and didn’t pop. Inside it was a speck-sized car with a silver flag, zooming in circles. Soon more bubble cars drifted down from the tree leaves, each one humming a bright, zippy tune. They had not come to clean Dax; they had come to use his fresh, soapy hood as the starting line for their Bubble Crew parade. Dax stayed still, proud as a grandstand, while the tiny racers looped and sparkled. If you spot the bubbles around him, can you guess which one is still saying plip-plip-plop?
