🎨 How to color it

Try a burnished copper watering can, ivory daisies with golden centers, emerald vines, and soft lavender paisley fronds rising from the spout and rim. Use sharp pencils for the tiny dots, scallops, leaf veins, and spirals, coloring one enclosed section at a time to keep the zentangle details crisp. For a handmade twist, shade the can’s mandala panels from teal to turquoise while leaving a few star shapes pale and bright.

Every evening, Audra filled the old can at the cistern and carved one small pattern into its metal belly, wanting a vessel worthy of the night seedlings. The work smelled of rain, brass dust, and crushed leaves. Until one day, her awl slipped inside the hollow handle and clicked against something no gardener had thought to search. Because of that, she opened a seam; because of that, a dry star-seed rolled into her palm, warm as bread. She planted it in the can’s mouth, poured dusk water, and watched her own spirals bloom upward into light.
