🎨 How to color it

Layer pearl white and pale lavender over the unicorn’s body, give the braided horn bands of antique gold and silver, and color the surrounding stars in soft lemon, icy blue, and blush pink. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny paisleys, dots, petals, and striped sections, moving from the outer mane ribbons inward so your hand does not smudge finished details. For a mischievous finish, make one star near the raised hoof glow in a brighter color than all the others, as if the unicorn has just kicked it loose.

Every night in the celestial print shop, Quillan pressed tidy stars onto comet invitations with a dented thimble he had carved himself, and the room smelled of warm ink and singed sugar. Until one night, the thimble stamped a star on his hoof instead. Because of that, every prance printed another star; because of that, the constellations began receiving invitations to parties that did not exist. Laughing, Quillan reared, caught the thimble on his horn, and carved one final notch by hand: CANCELLED, but charming.
