🎨 How to color it

Color the unicorn’s mane lavender, the striped horn golden yellow, the flower crown pink and teal, and the big heart bright cherry red. Use chunky crayons for the unicorn’s wide face, belly, and heart, and do not worry if little hands color over the thick black lines. Try making every tiny heart around the unicorn a different red, pink, or purple so the secret shapes feel extra special.

The story behind this coloring page

Della’s Waiting Heart — Under the whisper bushes, Della pressed a giant paper heart to her chest. Read the full story →

Under the whisper bushes, Della pressed a giant paper heart to her chest. She wanted the tiny garden hearts to wake before moon-snack time, but the bushes only rustled, shh-shh, and the flowers kept their sleepy faces closed.

“Maybe one more minute,” Della whispered. She sat still. A beetle tickled the grass. Dew smelled like cold apples. At last, something tapped inside the paper heart: tap, tap, tap. A hidden seed split open where nobody had thought to look, and warm red light spilled out.

The little hearts popped up all around her—on stems, in leaves, even near her tail. Ever since then, whisper-garden hearts only bloom for someone patient enough to hold a quiet heart close. Can you find the first one that woke before moon-snack time?
