🎨 How to color it

Color the snowman’s witch hat midnight purple, the scarf bright teal, the pumpkin pail orange, and the crescent moon buttery yellow. Use chunky crayons or markers for the big round snowballs and wide hat brim, saving a sharper crayon point for the tiny star corners and hat patch stitches. Try making the scarf stripes alternate teal and lime so the waving mitten looks extra cozy against the night sky.

The story behind this coloring page

Pipkin’s Moonlit Pumpkin Secret — Under the hush-hush stars, Pipkin rolled to the cornfield edge with his pumpkin pail bumping, clunk-clunk, against his snowy side. Read the full story →

Under the hush-hush stars, Pipkin rolled to the cornfield edge with his pumpkin pail bumping, clunk-clunk, against his snowy side. The moon-march would start soon, and every snowman needed a sound. Pipkin had only twiggy fingers and a mitten that made no noise at all.

He peeked where nobody peeked—inside the jack-o’-lantern’s grin. Tucked behind its triangle teeth was a tiny frost bell, cold as a peppermint. “You were saving my sound,” Pipkin whispered. He lifted his mitten, rang ting-ting, and the moon smiled wider.

Ever since, Halloween snowmen carry pumpkin pails, because that is where their moon-march music belongs. Next time you spot Pipkin’s pail, keep the secret: the ting-ting is hiding behind the grin.
