🎨 How to color it

Try jade green for the sweeping vine arches, blush pink for the trellis roses, ivory and gold on the swan fountain, and pale lavender for the gazebo dome. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny blossoms, latticework, and stone-path seams, then save softer layering for the broad shrubs and open sky. For a unified art nouveau glow, shade the path from warm cream in the foreground to soft peach near the fountain.

Before dawn, with boxwood smelling of rain and iron, Sabine pressed her sister’s silver thimble into her palm and tried to draw the garden’s ceremonial path perfectly straight. The ruler clicked against stone; the fountain answered with a softer click, as if another hand measured back. She followed the sound under rose trellises, past the empty gazebo, curiosity pulling her farther than duty. At the basin, the thimble slipped, rang once, and rolled in a bright, impossible curve. Sabine set each stone along that music. Ever since, garden paths remember curves.
