Every day, Dalia played Sun-Swap beside the mushroom bend: she caught one warm color from dawn and passed it to the nearest leaf, petal, or pebble. The red caps smelled damp and peppery, and the tall grass tickled her stem while she whispered the rule: “No color may stay lonely.”
Until one day, a giant rainbow rose before breakfast and held every color in its quiet bands. Because of that, the small flowers opened pale as paper. Because of that, the bees forgot which blooms had nectar and circled in puzzled, fuzzy loops. Dalia’s joy felt too large to keep, so she shook her dotted center and sent gold dust floating upward.
At last, the rainbow answered by loosening one band at a time—peach to the daisies, teal to the leaves, lavender to the shadows under the mushrooms. The bees hummed again, deep and happy. Next time you see those wide rainbow stripes behind Dalia, can you find where her rule first set the colors free: no color may stay lonely?
