🎨 How to color it

Color the water slide bright aqua, the inner tube sunny orange, the splashes pale blue, and the palm tree leafy green with a tan trunk. Use chunky crayons or markers to fill the wide slide lanes first, then dab quick blue marks inside the many splash shapes. Try making the water darker near the bottom pool and lighter up by the slide’s top, like the splash is racing toward you.

Every day on vacation, Tobin lined up at the curly water slide and shouted, “Big splash coming!” He loved the warm rail under his hands, the coconut smell from the snack cart, and the whoosh-whoosh of water in the tunnel. Until one day, just as his orange tube bumped forward, a tiny green frog hopped onto the handle and blinked at him.

Because of that, Tobin held on tighter and zipped down with the frog riding like a captain. Because of THAT, the slide seemed to roar hello, sending silver spray over the sides and making kids cheer from below. At the last twist, the frog sprang into the pool with a plip, and Tobin landed beside it with his loudest kaboom. “You belong here too,” Tobin laughed.
