Every afternoon, Tilly folded one leaf-note, sealed it with berry jam, and dared herself not to peek inside before delivery. She wanted to carry one giggle-note all the way to the mail moss. The seal smelled sweet and sticky. Her wings went flit-flit, but her tummy went wobble-wobble.
Until one day, the note sneezed. “Achoo!” said the envelope. Because of that, Tilly jumped and dropped it on a snail’s hat. Because of THAT, the snail slid backward into a puddle, splashing three beetles into a tap dance. Tilly almost peeked—but finally hugged the wiggly note tight and delivered it.
