🎨 How to color it

Color the family’s suitcases cherry red and ocean blue, the Gate 12 signs bright yellow, and the airplane a clean silver-gray. Use chunky crayons or broad markers for the wide window panes, tiled floor, and large luggage shapes, letting little hands stay inside the bold lines when they can. Add a sunset peach glow behind the clouds outside so the silver airplane looks ready for a special vacation takeoff.

The story behind this coloring page

Juno’s Gate Twelve Game — Under the high glass roof, Juno rolled his tiny suitcase click-click-click and tapped each floor tile with one sneaker. Read the full story →

Under the high glass roof, Juno rolled his tiny suitcase click-click-click and tapped each floor tile with one sneaker. He had just invented Gate Twelve Twelve: find twelve happy things before the plane door opened. “One cloud! Two wheels! Three snack smells!” he whispered, breathing in warm pretzels and suitcase rubber while his parents held the tickets.

The game grew quietly. A woman at the desk smiled; a man lifted his coffee like a flag; far outside, the waiting airplane blinked a little light. Then Juno noticed something wonderful: the plane had rows and rows of round windows, as if it had been counting faces right back. His joy felt too big for his small chest, so he waved to the whole gate. “You play too!” he called. Soon everyone counted softly together, and next time you see Gate 12, maybe you can find the blink that answered Juno’s click-click-click.
