🎨 How to color it

Try a cherry-red cargo box, a navy blue rider’s jacket, warm tan storefront awnings, and soft gray cars along the curb. Use sharp colored pencils for the many window frames, wheel spokes, and tree branches, then fill the broad cargo panels with smoother marker strokes. Add one secret color rule: every shop sign the rider passes can glow in a different bright shade, like checkpoints in a city game.

Every day after school, Ari helped load the cargo bike behind the print shop: paper rolls thumped, straps snapped, and the wooden crate smelled like dust and pine. He wanted to prove he belonged on the downtown delivery route, not just in the alley counting packages. So he invented Crate Dash Code: every blank shop sign, bus stop, and planter became a checkpoint, and every wheel click meant “go.”

Until one day, the usual street was blocked by a rumbling bus and a line of honking cars. Because of that, Ari turned onto Glass Avenue, where tall windows flashed sunlight in his eyes. Because of that, he noticed the reflections making arrows—one in a bakery window, one on a silver car, one on a puddle by the curb. “The city’s playing back,” he whispered, pedaling harder.

Finally, the arrows led him to the new library entrance just as the reading club waited for its posters. Ari braked beside the planters, breath puffing in the cold air, and delivered the bundle before the clock chimed. If you follow the crate, the shop signs, and the shining wheels, you might crack the Crate Dash Code too: go.
