Every day after lunch, Bramble tied a tiny triangle flag to his bicycle and rolled down the sunny park path. He wanted the orange butterfly to land on it, just once. The flag had come from his old baby blanket, so Bramble would not zoom, wobble, or honk too loudly.
Until one day, a sneezy breeze went fwip! and spun the flag backward. Because of that, Bramble pedaled slowly to fix the knot. Because of that, a basket flower bounced loose and tickled his nose. “Ah-choo, not you too!” he yipped.
At last, he stopped beside the warm stones and waited. The butterfly fluttered down—not onto the flag, but onto the loose flower, and the flag shaded them both like a tiny tent. Next time you spot Bramble’s little flag, see if it is still waiting in the sun.
