🎨 How to color it

Color the Christmas tree pine green, the star topper golden yellow, the round ornaments cherry red, and the crescent moon pale blue. For toddlers, use chunky crayons and big sweeps on the tree layers and snowy hills; staying inside every line is not the goal. Add a secret pop of purple to the little star ornament near the middle, like it just woke up at night.

Under the hush-hush moon, Nell wanted one more glow. She shook her branches: swish, swish. No glow. So she tiptoed from her snug snow spot onto the curvy path.

Crunch, crunch went the snow. Brrr went the wind. A tiny bump blinked beside the path. “Psst,” Nell whispered. She waited. The bump blinked again! Under the snow was a little star, warm as toast. Nell carried it home, slow-slow, and her branches felt cozy. Next time you see the hush-hush moon, can you spot Nell’s secret glow?
