In the music nook, while the floor smelled like lemon polish, David tapped one harp string and dared himself to find the giggliest tune before snack time. Plink! One string wobbled. Plunk! Another made his elbow feel fizzy. “No serious songs allowed,” David whispered.
He followed the silly sounds around the little harp, past leafy curls and heart-shaped knobs, until the notes seemed to hop right out of the air. Then came the surprise: the loudest giggle was not from a string at all. It came from his own name, booming softly with every plink, as if the letters had been waiting to join the band.
David laughed so hard his shoes squeaked. He played one more tickle-tune, and the harp, the hopping notes, and the big friendly name all wiggled together. Next time you see those floating notes, can you guess which one giggled first?
