🎨 How to color it

Layer deep forest green through the tree leaves, burnished gold along the Celtic knot bands, and rich burgundy inside the “Inner Strength” letters. Use sharp colored pencils and color one woven strand at a time, following each over-under path before moving to the next. For extra drama, shade the roots slightly darker than the branches so the words look held up by the tree’s hidden power.

Every evening, Bryn ran the cliff road with messages sealed in green wax, a dull brass coin tied inside his glove for luck. It had been his mother’s ferry token, worn smooth by her thumb, and he never let it leave his hand. Then thunder cracked over the river gorge, the ferry rope snapped, and the only blacksmith awake demanded payment before he would lower his spare chain into the rain.

Bryn needed that coin for himself: one day it would buy passage beyond the cliffs. Instead, he slapped it onto the anvil. The chain rang, sparks flew, and six soaked travelers crossed before dawn without ever knowing whose future had paid for theirs. Because of that, Bryn walked home empty-handed; because of that, his palm felt the wind fully for the first time. By sunrise, he tied a green wax message where the coin had been, and ran the cliff road lighter than luck.
