🎨 How to color it

Color the Celtic harp honey gold with emerald knotwork, make the Ireland outline a soft sea green, and give the large shamrock bright clover leaves. Use a sharp green pencil for the jagged coastline first, then fill the harp’s broad frame and the shamrock’s rounded leaves with chunky, even strokes. Try making each shamrock leaf a slightly different green, as if sunlight is moving across it.

Along a windy Irish cliff path, Eilis set herself a small challenge: before the lighthouse lamp blinked, she would hear seven quiet harp notes from old Mr. Rowan’s porch. Every day she listened after school—plink, hush, gull, grass—until one day the harp gave only six notes, then stopped. The missing note seemed to leave a cool, empty space in the salty air.

Because of that, Eilis sat very still instead of running home. Because of THAT, she heard the breeze scrape through a patch of clover below the wall: shhh-ting! She climbed down and found one tall shamrock bent over a loose harp string, making the seventh note whenever the wind passed. “There you are,” she whispered. At dusk, the lamp blinked, the string sang again, and her patient counting felt as wide as the coast; next time you see the big shamrock, can you guess where the quiet note was hiding?
