🎨 How to color it

Color the rose petals deep coral, the leaves emerald green, the pedestal pot warm ivory, and the glass cloche with pale blue highlights. Use sharp colored pencils for the rose’s layered petal edges and leaf veins, then switch to lighter pressure on the wide glass curves. Try a soft lavender glow around the tiny star shapes so the protected rose feels quietly magical.

The story behind this coloring page

Under the hush of the bell-jar alcove, Liora slid her pressed-flower book into her satchel and reached for one coral petal resting inside the glass. She wanted it for the empty page labeled “First Rose,” but the cloche was taller than her courage and cold as creek water when she touched it. Beyond the alcove, vines tapped the stone with tiny tick-tick sounds. Liora took one step from her familiar reading cushion, then another, until her knees brushed the round wooden base.

A silver moth dropped from the cloche knob, carrying a thread of moon-pale silk. “Please lift slowly,” it whispered. “My wing is caught in a crack no one can see.” Liora’s hands trembled, but she raised the glass just enough. The air smelled of rain and green stems. The moth slipped free, leaving its silk across Liora’s finger like a brave little bandage.

The petal curled away in the draft and fell back beside the pot. Liora let it stay. She pressed the moth’s silver thread into her book instead, warm from her palm, and returned to her cushion with the page no longer empty. Next time you spot the round knob above the rose, can you imagine the tiny whisper that helped Liora lift the quiet bell?
