🎨 How to color it

Color Jesus’ robe soft white with a sky-blue sash, the fishermen’s tunics tan and olive, the wooden boat brown, and the lake bright blue. Use chunky crayons for the big hills, sky, and robes, then try a sharper crayon tip for the crisscross fishing nets. Make the winding shoreline fade from sandy yellow to pale peach so it looks like a path ready for quick feet.

Down on the Galilee shore, Caleb slapped his sandals through wet sand and counted footprints before the little waves washed them flat. “One, two, three—quick!” he puffed, chasing the marks past a boat that smelled of rope, fish, and sun-warmed wood.

Two fishermen climbed out beside their heavy nets, and Caleb’s count ran faster: seven, eight, nine. Then a kind voice called from the curve of the beach, and the men stopped as if the wind had tugged their sleeves. Jesus held out his hands and said, “Come with me.”

Caleb looked again. The footprints were not ending at the water after all; they were beginning a road. He pressed his own small heel beside them—ten! Next time you see the sandy path by the boat, can you guess which print made Caleb run?
