Under the cottony moon-mat, Nori the striped kitten patted the soft grass. He wanted each tired friend to have a place before the dew made their paws cold. “Here for bunny,” he whispered, tapping one patch. “Here for bear.”
The game was new: tap, name, smile, rest. Bunnies came with velvety ears. Bears came smelling like honey biscuits. Nori added tiny stars for night-lights, hearts for hugs, flowers for pillows, and round dots for stepping stones.
When the last friend curled in, the moon-mat hummed hush-hush. Every spot stayed exactly where Nori named it. Ever since, the meadow keeps its bunnies, bears, and kitties in cozy rows; next time you see the tiny stars between them, can you hear Nori whispering, “Here”?
