Before the music began, Vero set a challenge: count ten secret sky-taps without missing one. In Balloon Plaza, strings hummed like tiny violins, confetti smelled faintly of paper and peppermint, and the smiling clouds would only blink when the count was true.

“One,” whispered Vero, tapping a sneaker on the curved stage. Two taps came from star balloons. Three hid in a ribbon’s curl. Four, five, six rustled through paper squares. Seven and eight bounced from polka-dot balloons. Nine rang from the flower on Vero’s party hat.

But the tenth sound would not come. Vero stood beside the round zero, feeling its smooth edge fit against the straight one. Then both feet sprang up together—thump! The clouds blinked, every balloon tugged its string, and the secret count clicked into place. Ever since, ten has belonged to 1 and 0 side by side, jumping together; can you spot the hat flower that heard the ninth tap?
