🎨 How to color it

Color the shelf cats in ginger, gray, and cream, make the Cat Cafe sign sunny yellow, and give the leafy plants two fresh greens. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny paw prints, menu words, book spines, and plant leaves, then switch to markers for the big beds and floor tiles. Try making the Cuddle Bubble a pale blue-to-lavender gradient so the sleeping cat looks tucked inside a gentle soap bubble.

Before the bell on Cup-and-Whisker Morning, Pippa pressed her nose to the cool floor and gave herself a challenge: find seven perfect corners before the first spoon clinked. Not six. Not almost seven. Seven places where a cat could say, in a tiny inside voice, mine.

She found a shelf that smelled like paper and fern dirt, a teacup warm from yesterday’s steam, and a round tunnel that made every purr sound bigger. But the seventh corner kept dodging her. Under the menu board, a yarn ball rolled past with a soft brrrp, and Pippa chased it right into the middle of the room. “That’s no corner,” whispered Mott, the café’s oldest cat.

Pippa looked around. Every cat had chosen a place without asking: the pillow basket, the high shelf, the bubble nook, the sunny rug. So Pippa tapped the floor and named the middle too: Play Zone. Ever since then, cat cafes have had cozy corners and one not-corner for mischief. If you know the secret, you can spot where Pippa’s challenge locked into place.
