🎨 How to color it

Color the yak’s shaggy coat golden brown, the big Y and little y sunny yellow, and the yarn ball with stripes of raspberry, teal, and cream. Use chunky crayons for the large letter shapes, then switch to a sharper crayon tip for the yarn loops crossing the yak’s horns, legs, and tail. Try making every loop around the yak a different bright color so the tangles look like a joyful alphabet parade.

Every day, Veda the yak trotted through Loom Canyon with one challenge: make a perfect Y trail before the bell went clang-clang. Her yarn ball bumped over stones, smelling like sheep wool and sunshine. She flicked her tail, looped left, looped right, and shouted, “Yip! Yip!” so the canyon birds could follow.

Until one day, a gust whooshed down the canyon and spun the yarn around her horns, hooves, and fuzzy belly. Because of that, Veda bounced instead of trotted, and the yarn drew giant loops in the dust. Because of THAT, the birds, lizards, and beetles began chasing the loops, laughing in squeaks and clicks. At last, Veda stopped beside the bell and gave one big joyful yell for everyone to copy. Next time you see the twisty yarn, can you follow where Veda’s “Yip! Yip!” went?
