Across Alphabet Meadow, Aster the alligator marched with a swish-swish tail. He wanted the perfect place for the morning adventure parade, so he checked the soft grass, the bumpy flower stems, and the shade under the round white clouds. “A good parade needs a big start!” he called.
The meadow answered with tiny hints. A flower leaned left, two grass blades leaned right, and even Aster’s muddy footprints made pointy shapes. Then a breeze lifted the grass beside the little a, and out popped a tiny ant band with acorn drums. They had been practicing under the letters all along.
Boom-tap, boom-tap! Aster grinned so wide his teeth shone in the sun. The ant band needed a leader, and Aster needed a start, so together they began exactly at A. Next time you see his smile beside the letters, can you spot where the secret music was hiding?
