Under the whispery daisies, Pella made herself a tiny dare: touch one fallen star before the dew dried. The star lay in the blossom clearing, warm as toast and buzzing zzz-zing against the grass. Pella crept closer, wings tucked tight. “Just one tap,” she whispered.
