🎨 How to color it

Color the cloud a soft pearl blue, the daisies buttery yellow with peach centers, the striped leaves mint green, and the moon pale lavender. Use colored pencils for the flower petals and leaf stripes so the narrow spaces stay crisp, then switch to markers for the cloud’s wide rounded puffs. Try making each smiling star a different pastel—strawberry pink, lemon, sky blue, and lilac—so the night feels like a secret candy sky.

Under the petal sky, Pipra tucked daisies behind her misty curls and whispered the rules of her brand-new game: “Guess what I’m carrying before I rain.” She wanted the moon to play first. But the moon hung beyond the cold blue gap, and Pipra had never drifted past the flower ridge where leaf-stems tickled her sides and everything smelled like warm pollen.

So she puffed out bravely. Star after star blinked awake with tiny glassy pings. “Is it silver?” asked one. Pipra shook her round cheeks. “Is it thunder?” asked another, making her edges shiver. To cross the windy hollow, she had to trade three daisy petals to the breeze, and they spun away like little boats.

At last, the crescent moon leaned close. “You’re carrying a secret,” it said. Pipra opened her soft middle and let out not rain, but the smell of the lost petals—sweet, green, and bright enough to wake every sleepy star. She came home lighter, with moonlight caught in her leaves and a better rule: the best guesses make more questions. If you follow the smallest circles around her, can you spot which star still hasn’t guessed?
