🎨 How to color it

Color the minotaur’s fur deep chestnut, his horned helmet iron gray, the axe blade bright steel, and the Celtic knot shield rim forest green. Use sharp colored pencils for the braided knots on the arch and shield, turning the page as needed to keep each loop clean. Try a warm sunset gold behind the maze so his cool metal armor stands out like a guard at dusk.

The story behind this coloring page

Every evening, when the horn-snails hummed along the wall, Torvik tapped his axe on the flagstones and counted left turns through the stone labyrinth. He had set himself a challenge: reach the old knot-arch without losing his place, not once. “Thirty-nine,” he muttered, tasting dust and storm in the air, until one day the floor answered, “Forty.”

Because of that extra turn, the path behind him slid shut with a grinding growl. Because of THAT, the arch began to bend inward, knot-stones twisting like ropes, trying to tie the whole maze into one giant loop. Torvik’s knees knocked under his armor. He wanted to run, but his hooves knew the count, and his hands knew the weight of his round shield.

At the final corner, he planted the shield in the arch’s shadow and struck its braided rim with the flat of his axe. CLANG! The knots rang back in order: one, two, three, left. The maze sighed open, smelling of wet stone. Next time you spot Torvik under the knot-arch, see if his eyes are still counting that first brave turn.
