🎨 How to color it

Layer deep indigo through the star’s outer points, antique gold along the woven Celtic bands, and soft teal in the small triangular tip ornaments. Use a sharp colored pencil and follow each over-under strand slowly, coloring one ribbon path at a time so the knotwork stays readable. For a luminous twist, shade the central round knot from pale gold at the middle to amber at the edges, as if the star is lit from within.

The story behind this coloring page

Ronan Finds the Fixed Star — Every night, Ronan crossed the wet basalt causeway to tighten the bronze star-marker before the tide swallowed its black stones; salt hissed in the seams, and his tools smelled of rain. Read the full story →

Every night, Ronan crossed the wet basalt causeway to tighten the bronze star-marker before the tide swallowed its black stones; salt hissed in the seams, and his tools smelled of rain. Until one night, a seal-woman stood beside it, touching the loosened knot with a finger bright as moonmilk. Because of that, the star swung east instead of north; because of that, Ronan followed its shadow to a hidden inlet where the sea answered his chisel taps in perfect rhythm. At dawn he set down his tools there, hearing home in the hiss of the wet basalt causeway.
