🎨 How to color it

Color the robot mermaid’s shell plates pearly pink, her metal arms and tail soft silver, the coral bright orange, and the treasure coins warm gold. Use sharp colored pencils for the cable-like hair, tiny bubbles, gears, and pearl strands so the small underwater details stay crisp. Try a teal-to-blue wash behind her tail and leave a few bubbles white so the gold chest looks like it is glowing in secret.

The story behind this coloring page

Sella’s Unseen Pearl — Beyond the humming kelp gates, Sella carried a dull little bead in her palm. Read the full story →

Beyond the humming kelp gates, Sella carried a dull little bead in her palm. She wanted one moon-pearl from the old vault chest, not for riches, but to replace the missing lamp in her chest gauge before the dark tide came.

The vault smelled of salt, brass, and cold stone. When she nudged the lid open, coins clinked like tiny teeth, and a pearl necklace slid over the lock. Then a bell began to ring under the sand. A baby lantern-eel, tangled in the chain, flashed weakly beside it. Sella could stop the bell only by feeding the latch a memory bead—her bead, the one that held her first song.

“Take mine,” she whispered. The bell went quiet. The eel slipped free, and from its glow rolled a new pearl, small and blue as midnight. Sella swam home with no song in her bead, but the lamp in her gauge shone for every lost swimmer. If you spot the open chest, can you guess which pearl was given when nobody was watching?
