Every day, Bram polished the fancy ornaments until they winked in the firelight. He saved one plain tin bauble in his pocket, rubbing it with his mitten and whispering, “Pick me soon.”
One day, the red-striped ornament rolled under the rug with a clink-clink-thump. Because of that, Santa reached for Bram’s tin bauble instead. Because of THAT, the bauble caught the fireplace glow and flashed a tiny red dot onto the ceiling. The cat pounced, the elves laughed, and Santa waited for the dot to land right on the tallest branch.
