🎨 How to color it

Color the monkey soft cocoa brown, the heart-shaped face peach, the wide branch warm tan, and the big leaves bright jungle green. For little hands, use chunky crayons and fill the large branch and leaves first; it is okay if the color hops over the lines. Try making the curled tail a little darker than the monkey’s face so it stands out beside the branch.

Under the hush-hush leaf arch, Wemba wanted to say “boo” to a beetle, but the branch felt tall and new. He made a tiny game: up, down, peek! His fingers hugged the smooth bark.

“Boo,” Wemba whispered. The beetle clicked, tick-tick, and a leaf folded close to help him hide. Wemba peeked again, braver. Up, down, peek! Ever since then, jungle leaves keep cozy hiding places for small first boos. Can you find Wemba’s peekaboo spot under the hush-hush leaf arch?
