By the city curb, chalk dust tickled the air while Trixie rolled one slow loop on her skateboard. She had just invented Sidewalk Giggle Swap: do a tiny trick, hear one laugh, then trade it for a sillier trick.
“Zoom for a giggle!” she called, swishing past a cup with a smiley face. Her wheels went click-clack over the squares. She wobbled her knees, crossed her eyes, and bowed to a street sign as if it were queen of the block.
Then the sidewalk answered. The chalk stars blinked, the word LOL stretched its letters, and a little crack near the curb made a snorty “heh-heh!” Trixie laughed so hard her helmet star shivered.
So she shared the game with the whole block: one roll for the buildings, one wiggle for the clouds, one grin for every chalky star. If you spot the tiniest sidewalk face, can you tell what laugh it traded back?
