🎨 How to color it

Layer the puppy in soft cream and honey beige, the crescent moon in pale gold, the leafy vines in sage and olive, and the patterned stars in dusty lavender. Use sharp colored pencils for the tiny leaves, star filigree, and curling vine tips, saving broader blended strokes for the puppy’s body and the moon’s wide arcs. Try a midnight-to-indigo wash around the scattered stars so the pale gold crescent feels handmade and luminous.

The story behind this coloring page

Vesper’s Moonlit Game — Before the sky learned to sleep, Vesper carried a spool of silver vine through the sky orchard and invented a game: every star she passed had to be linked to one leaf, and every leaf had to hold one quiet wish. Read the full story →

Before the sky learned to sleep, Vesper carried a spool of silver vine through the sky orchard and invented a game: every star she passed had to be linked to one leaf, and every leaf had to hold one quiet wish. The vine was cool against her paws, smelling faintly of rain on stone. She wanted to make a resting place that would not wobble when the night winds sighed.

She worked slowly, nose close to the curve of a young moon, tucking tendrils through starlight and pressing each leaf flat with careful pride. The game changed under her paws; the vine began choosing its own path, curling where her paws had warmed it. “Stay,” she whispered, and the moon held still.

By dawn, the first cradle of night was finished, gold rimmed with leaves and small stars caught like buttons sewn by hand. Vesper tucked herself inside to test it, and the moon did not tip. Ever since, crescent moons grow vines when they are ready to carry dreams, because one puppy made the first resting place that would not wobble when the night winds sighed.
