Every day, Veda zipped across the rainbow arches and tapped each stripe with her tiny feet. “Red, orange, yellow—go!” she chirped, trying to beat the soft boom-boom of the cloud drums.
Until one day, a star blinked loose from the sky carnival and tumbled under the rainbow with a ping! Because of that, Veda dared herself to dive past the lowest cloud, where the air felt cold and fizzy on her wings. Because of that, the shy star spun faster, scattering silver sparks.
