🎨 How to color it

Try lavender for the haunted house walls, pumpkin orange for the jack-o’-lantern, silver gray for the stone path, and pale yellow for the moon and stars. Use chunky crayons or broad marker strokes on the big roof, walls, and round pumpkin, and don’t worry if little hands go outside the lines. Make the ghost glow by leaving it white and coloring a soft blue halo around its window.

Every evening, Pip raced up Haunted Hill to ring the moon-bell by the crooked porch. Clang-clang! It told bats to swoop, pumpkins to grin, and chimney smoke to curl like a question mark.

Until one windy night, the bell rope snapped with a twang. Because of that, the stars blinked out of order, and a small ghost popped into the upstairs window. “Make me a sound!” it squeaked. Because of THAT, Pip grabbed flower stems, pebbles, and a porch knob, tying them into a jingly Boo Bell with chilly fingers. Finally, he shook it high—jingle-jangle-BOO! The ghost spun, the pumpkin beamed, and the smoke curled just right. Next time you spot that upstairs window, can you tell what Pip made with his own hands?
