🎨 How to color it

Color the sunflower petals golden yellow, the big seed centers warm brown, the watering can sky blue, and the garden leaves fresh green. The wide petals and watering can panels are great for chunky crayons, while the tiny pebbles and water drops can be colored only if your child wants extra details. Try making the two sunflower faces slightly different yellows so they look like gentle garden twins.

At the edge of Pebble Nook, Vera pressed her roots into an old blue watering can and tried not to wiggle until sunset. She wanted to be the first sunflower to stand still while the evening crickets rubbed their scratchy song. But the can tipped whenever the soft wind pushed her leaves.

“Easy now,” whispered a beetle under the spout. Vera leaned toward her little sprout friend, and both stems made a quiet bridge. Plink, plink went the last drops inside the can, cool as rain. The can stopped rocking and held them close.

Ever since, some sunflowers choose watering cans, because the curved tin feels like a hug and the spout sings when the wind comes. Next time you see the two tall blooms, can you tell which one helped the can stay?
